Lent: Part 12

Bride of Frankenstein (1935) – So, if the original story is a cautionary, moral tale against those who would play god, this one is, what, a caution against ugly people who would seek companionship?

Still haven’t decided just how seriously this movie was taking itself. On the one hand, it was 1935, and people can be forgiven a lot in the movies, but on the other hand, it’s just so damn silly.

    My Two Cents: Part 12

I haven’t seen that one since I was about 10, and it remains every bit as fun as I remembered it. Glad the Syndicate motherfuckers kept their hands off it.

I watched this and Frankenstein a few months back, and was pretty shocked that they’re considered classics. Bride was better, and I do believe it’s supposed to be a bit campy, but it’s no classic. Plus the Bride is only in it for about five minutes, which was fairly lame.
