Lent: Part 2

Once (2006) – When I learned that the main characters are credited only as “Guy” and “Girl”, I was furious. As if this movie wasn’t artsy enough, now the characters don’t have fuckin’ names? What’s worse, I came up with the idea two years ago of a story about two people who never learned each other’s names but live for years together. Not only did I watch my idea stolen and put up on the screen with a wobbly handheld camera, but I was forced to admit I had come up with an indie-hipster idea.

My Two Cents, Year 3: Part 2

Girls, have you ever been accused of flirting with a guy you didn’t want a relationship with, and you couldn’t figure out what you did wrong? Watch this film, and you’ll be able to see it from the outside.

In other news, it’s less a movie, and more a concert you listen to while staring at the cute, blond piano player with her adorable mixed Czech-Irish accent. The music was really good, though.

I liked the music–not so much I’d go out of my way to listen to it again, but enough–and the romance was at least non-standard. A romance movie that deviates from the standard form is at least memorable.

You said that as if it was a bad thing.

P.S. I was inspired enough by the movie to almost dress up as a maid dragging a Hoover around for Halloween.

Ha ha haha ha ha haha haha.

Roxie hated this movie, but she can’t admit it outside the family, because if she does her indie-hipster friends will look down on her.
