Lent: Part 27

A Dirty Shame (2004) – John Waters, even in this day and age, can still manage to shock people (and maybe teach them about a new sex act). Not me, of course, I’m a modern, sophisticated man, but other people might be offended, maybe.

Had I known about the Jesus-figure story line, I might have saved this for the last movie. Which reminds me, I need to pick a final film for this year. Suggestions?

Of all the kinks in the world, people who live a life of enforced innocence reeling in shock at the slightest bit of strange seem to me the kinkiest. Even granting the prudish nature of the ratings board, I’m still trying to figure out how this film earned an NC-17 when flicks like American Pie did not.

If you haven’t seen Lost in La Mancha, it’s worth a view! (Not a likely lent wrap up film, but a good one none-the-less).
